The different types of automobiles are classified on the following basis:
1.Based on Purpose
According to the purpose the vehicles are classified as passenger vehicles and goods vehicles. The vehicles which carries passengers are called as passenger vehicles and those carries materials or goods are called as goods vehicles. Some of the examples of these vehicles are given below.
1. Passenger vehicles: Car, Jeep, Auto-rickshaw.
2. Goods vehicles: Truck.

2. Based on Capacity
According to the capacity the vehicles are classified as light motor vehicles and heavy motor vehicles. The light motor vehicles can able to carry light things and are also less in size and weight. But the heavy motor vehicles can carry very heavy materials and possess large mass and are bigger in size.

2. Heavy motor vehicles: Bus,Tractor, Truck.

3. Based on Fuel used
On the basis of the fuel used the vehicles can be divided into petrol vehicles, diesel vehicles, electric cab, steam carriages and gas vehicles.1. Petrol vehicles: Car,Motorcycle, Jeep, Scooter.2. 4. Based on Number of wheels
According to the number of wheels the vehicles are classified as two, three, four, six and eight or more wheelers.1. Two -wheeler: Motorcycles,Scooter, Moped.

DeleteAutomobile mean the vehicle travel by road can call automobile with engine . Here train is moves a locomotive in rails not roads or tracks so train is not an automobile.
i have a doubt , some cars have stickers with 4X4....? what it mean it only for showoff stickers....?
ReplyDelete4x4 drive mean the vehicle have 4 wheels and all the 4 wheels are drive wheels. The power trains transmit to all the four wheels.
Deletenormally in 4x2 the power transmit to only for rear and front 2 wheels, but in 4x4 drive the power equally distributed in all 4 wheels we can change into our usages.
